Dr. Alice Demske Hansen is an active and accomplished international performer and teacher. She began her piano studies at age 4 in Dallas, Texas under Samuel Wong. Her studies continued at the Royal Academy of Music in London, England where she earned her Bachelor Degree in Piano Performance under Martin Roscoe. She went on to earn a Masters Degree from the Royal College of Music in London under Gordon Fergus-Thompson, spending a total of six years abroad.
Upon returning to the United States Dr. Hansen began teaching in earnest through a private studio and adjunct faculty positions at several colleges in the Dallas area. She returned to school a few years later, earning a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Missouri - Kansas City under Dr. Robert Weirich.
Throughout her education Alice performed and competed at local, national, and international levels. Her accomplishments include winning the Ribble Valley International Piano Competition, the Jacques Samuel International Piano Competition (RAM), and participating in the Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia. Most recently she completed a concert tour of Wales in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Hansen is a devoted and caring piano teacher. Her students include children from age four up to the college level and everything in between. Her students have successfully performed and competed, winning awards in events sponsored by both the Music Teachers National Association and the Mid-America Music Association. In addition to private students she also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the music department at Utah Valley University.
